Equifax Security Breach Info.

Equifax established a website to address the breach and provide FAQz and a link for the public to verify if their information was part of the breach: https://www.equifaxsecurity2017.com

Equifax is offering free identity theft protection and credit file monitoring to all U.S. consumers, even if they are not impacted by this incident. (Consumers can enroll in this free service via the website referenced under the first bullet point)

  • This offering, called TrustedID Premier, includes 3-Bureau credit monitoring of your Equifax, Experian and TransUnion credit reports; copies of your Equifax credit report; the ability to lock and unlock your Equifax credit report; identify theft insurance; and Internet scanning for your Social Security number – all complimentary to U.S. consumers for one year.

While the breach was widespread, Equifax found no evidence of unauthorized access to its core consumer or commercial credit reporting databases.

Lake Central Bank encourages customers to establish alert notification available on the Lake Central Bank’s online and mobile banking platforms and also via SHAZAM BOLT$ for the bank’s debit cards.
