At Lake Central Bank, we believe financial education is one of the most valuable investments we can make in our communities. While banking services help individuals achieve their financial goals today, financial education helps prepare the next generation to make informed decisions for years to come.
That is why Lake Central Bank proudly sponsors financial literacy programs in local schools through EVERFI. During the 2025-2026 school year, students across our region gained access to engaging, real-world lessons covering topics such as budgeting, savings accounts, credit and debt, taxes, insurance, career planning, and financial aid.
Making an Impact Where It Matters
This school year, Lake Central Bank’s sponsorship helped bring financial education to 146 students across Annandale Senior High School and Benson Secondary School, providing more than 147 hours of learning opportunities.
Financial literacy is not simply about understanding numbers. It is about building confidence and equipping young people with practical skills they will use throughout their lives. Whether opening a checking account, creating a budget, understanding credit, or preparing for college expenses, these lessons help students develop a strong financial foundation.
Learning That Produces Results
The impact of the program is demonstrated through student assessment results. According to the report, students improved their financial knowledge by 32 percentage points, increasing from an average pre-lesson assessment score of 57% to an average post-lesson score of 89%.
Students showed meaningful gains across a variety of personal finance topics, including budgeting, consumer skills, checking and savings accounts, credit and debt, taxes, education financing, career exploration, and insurance basics.
These measurable improvements highlight the value of providing financial education before students enter adulthood and begin making important financial decisions on their own.
Support from Local Educators
The success of the program extends beyond assessment scores. Educators reported strong satisfaction with the curriculum and its relevance to classroom learning. According to teacher feedback, the content is well aligned to educational standards and helps connect financial concepts to real-world situations.
Teacher survey results showed:
• 96% rated the course content as good or excellent.
• 94% agreed the program enhanced classroom instruction.
• 94% said the content was engaging for students.
• The program earned a +62 Net Promoter Score, indicating strong educator support.
Strong Communities Start with Education
At Lake Central Bank, community involvement means more than providing financial services. It means partnering with schools, educators, students, and families to help build stronger financial futures throughout the communities we serve.
We are grateful to the teachers who make these learning opportunities possible and to the students who actively engage in developing life skills that will benefit them long after graduation.
As we look ahead, Lake Central Bank remains committed to supporting financial education initiatives that empower the next generation with the knowledge, confidence, and tools needed to make informed financial decisions.
Together, we are helping create a stronger financial future, one student at a time.
